After Racist Commercial, Heineken Vows Reparation By Giving Free Beer To Black People

 Mar 28, 2018

Heineken has pulled out an advertisement that was deemed racist against black people. The ad starts with a bartender spotting a bombshell, then sliding a bottle of Heineken beer to her direction. The bottle traveled and passed different individuals who all happened to be black people. The tag line, "Sometimes, lighter is better" then appeared on screen after the bottle reached its recipient--a lighter-skinned woman. Chance, the rapper, called out the company for its 'incredibly racist' commercial on twitter and accused them of purposely making a racist commercial to get attention. This was enough for Heineken to ax the ad and apologize to the public. Mr. Heineken himself from the Netherlands, has issued an apology for the distasteful ad and has vowed to make reparations to the offended parties. "I am so sorry, we have missed the mark on that one," said Mr. Heineken. "We would like to make it up to black people by giving them free beer," a regretful and fair Mr. Heineken stated. The beer company's move may have stirred mixed reactions, but it doesn't stop there. The darker the skin of the person, the more free beer he or she is going to get for free, according to Mr. Heineken. "Mr. Chance will also be delighted to know that he can have as many free beers as he wants," Mr. Heineken said, noting that Chance, the rapper, was the first to blow the whistle. Most analysts agree that this is a bold move on the part of Heineken considering the cost of beer and the enormous number of it to be distributed for free. "This only shows how serious Heineken is in making it up to the dark-skinned community," said Edric Mulroney, a Business Analyst. At press time, Chance, the rapper, has not made any further comments. He is presumed to be satisfied with how things turned out.
