Man Who Survived The Atlantic For 16 Days By Eating Doritos Vows To Break Own Record

 March 02, 2018

Flabbergasted by his newly found fame after drifting the Atlantic Ocean for 16 days, Bahamas man, Sam Jones Jr, wants to have another shot at it and break his own record. The 23-year-old was presumed dead but survived on his fishing boat, braving harsh weather conditions with limited supplies -- thanks to several packs of Doritos he brought as snacks to what should have been a delightful sailing escapade. "I was sailing out there, letting the wind take me wherever it may," Jones recounted how the adventure unfolded. "When I was rescued and got home, everybody was so happy to see me and I was all over the news on different websites the next day," he recalled some more. "If I survived 16 days in the ocean by eating Doritos, imagine how long I could go with a whole turkey roast, a bucket of fried chicken, a bag of baked potatoes, stacks and stacks of sliced bread, a mini fridge, and a microwave oven." With the support of his family and friends, Jones is determined to go lost out there one more time to eclipse his old personal best. Depending on how things turn out, he also doesn't discount the chances of going for a third try. "I will cook and pack all his favorite food," Jones's wife said. "We will be on a vigil each day and night while he is lost out there--cheering and supporting him," she said. Having well remembered the discomfort he had to go through before, Jones has gone out at press time to meet a couple of wealthy individuals who've heard about him to persuade them to lend him a yacht.
